Yeah, despite the giant flaws of our current world, we are closer today to common prosperity and freedom than most likely any other period of time. There are some places, that exist today, where the people have united to create a better world and the hope is that more will follow. An apocalypse will just apply the lives of the worst off of today upon everyone, even if there are cool monsters.
