Lately, I’ve had this story idea stuck in my head. It keeps coming back over and over again, but I’ve been too busy to actually sit down and write a new project. So instead, I figured I’d just share it here.

So, everything is like this :

[ Title: No One To Kill In The Sky ]

[ Genre: Psychological, Fantasy, Tragedy ]

[ Initial Premise: ]

A man with no memories awakens in a place that feels utterly wrong. The air is thick and oppressive. Wind drifts around him, carrying dust and the unmistakable metallic stench of blood.

When he looks down, he realizes something horrifying. The floor beneath his feet, along with the walls surrounding him, are tightly woven from mangled human flesh and shattered bones, fused together into something unrecognizable.

He stands at the peak of a tower so impossibly tall that the curve of the earth bends along the horizon. With no past to anchor him, the man begins to descend, step by step, following a staircase made of flesh that seems to stretch on forever.

The core of the story follows this main character as he makes his way down the grotesque tower of flesh and bone.

[ Lore and Core Concept: ]

The existence of this monstrous tower traces back to the obsession of a tyrant who once ruled the land.

After conquering every nation and continent beneath his feet, his greed remained unsatisfied. He lifted his gaze toward the sky and decided that even the heavens themselves must be conquered. He wished to set foot on the moon.

In an era where neither machines nor electricity existed, stone and wood proved too weak to sustain such a mad ambition. And so, driven by insanity, the emperor issued a horrifying decree.

He spread lies among his people, speaking of a wicked force lurking high above in the sky. Lured by fear and manipulation, millions ascended the tower.

They were all sacrificed.

Slaughtered.

Woven together while still alive into the very structure of the tower, becoming the foundation of his ascent.

Now, as the nameless man descends, he is forced to confront the suffering of those who were used to build it.

The walls themselves seem to scream and weep, their surfaces filled with distorted faces trapped in endless agony. With their final breaths, the dying carved messages onto scraps of parchment. Words filled with curses, grief, hatred, and despair.

With their own fingernails, they left long, jagged scratches across the flesh-walls, documenting their rage. A record of the voices of those who were turned into nothing more than stepping stones for a mad king.

As he continues downward, the man reads these scattered parchments one by one.

The hatred festering within the tower begins to take shape.

Hallucinations emerge. Monstrous forms manifest. They pursue him relentlessly across every step. The more he reads, the more violent the terror becomes, slowly eroding his sanity.

Until, at last, his feet touch the ground.

Amid the burned and silent ruins of a fallen capital, rows of stone monuments stand tall.

He looks up.

And sees it.

A carved figure of himself, wearing a golden crown.

At that moment, his sealed memories come crashing back. Visions of slaughter. The sound of blades cutting through flesh. Orders given in his own voice, commanding the massacre of his people.

His heart pounds.

And now, he understands.

The emperor … was him.

The very monster who destroyed his own kingdom, who buried his people alive, all to fulfill an obsession.

To build a path to the sky.

Overall this is very well presented, and organized in such a way that shows exceptional clarity.
I'm not big on tragedy, so I'd probably skip reading it. That, though, is entirely personal preference, and has no bearing on the premise, or story concept you're playing with there.

Go for it. If not now, then when you've finished your other work.
