Do any of you use social media to promote your stories like X, Tiktok, Instagram, etc.... ?

How do you promote it? Do you find some illustration and write part of your story on it to promote it? Do you just write text?

I never used it, so I'm here to ask how other did it. I wonder what is a good way to promote it there and if it's usefull to promote it there or just a lose of time.

I quit using most social cancer a while ago, except for the one, which has a very loose definition of such...
You are better off promoting it online with immense patience and a connection level, instead of blasting a blurb in front of a stronger.

Then again, I don't have 100K+ views, so what do I know?

I don't really use social media.

I asked a few academics things on science and history on redit, and a few things on tip of my tongue.

But that's it.

I know some people who do. You need to be completely shameless and extremely lucky if you ever want your stuff to take off. That or be really good at making whatever slop gets clicks on your platform of choice.

The only social media sites I use are Youtube(does this count?) and Reddit. However I don't speak or interact with anyone on reddit since it's a Leftard echo-chamber and the mod's are all on weird power-trips, and the main site moderation is next to useless when pointing out individual subreddit moderator abuse/over-reach.

I belong to two of the three writer's groups I've found on Facebook - one for a site that I've never used (the one I never singed up for on FB either), one for self-published authors, and one general information group (which is where I found this site and Substack IIRC). I've chatted on a few but never really engaged.
