I'm curious about what kind of maniacs are here in this forum. I, myself, write at least 24.000 words a week. I don't know if it is a lot, but here I'm. 7 chapters for my main novel, with 2100 words on average, and then two chapters for a company I'm working with as a professional writer, writing at least two 5000~7000 word chapters a week.

Roughly around 8,000 words a week, split between different stories. 24,000 is helluva lot! I mean, I am also in the midst of finals and packing up in my apartment, as well as editing someone else's story, but still. Nowhere near your level. The difference between me and you, the professional writer, is quite vast.

My actual, per week average, is about what I post which is near 3200. The amount I CAN write in a week is close to 15k. But again, its the average. For instance, I'm writing a bunch now and next week, since Tears of the Kingdom comes out next Friday, and then I'm getting married in early June, so I've got to get a backlog to keep publishing schedule.

In a good week, at least 20.000 words. In bad/normal week I can do 7000 to 10.000.

Nothing great, but hey, it's 3 or 5 chapters a week, so I'm okay with that.

Yeah I only write about 3000ish a week nowadays, only have the one novel. Had I more time and passion to devote, I could possibly hit 15k or 20K (15K I did do for NaNoWriMo)

I also only have the one novel, so if I make more, I can write more. But then, time.

I'd like to get into pro writing sometime, but I have more immediate affairs to attend.

I think 24K is quite a lot. Good on you.
I hover between 30,000 to 60,000 a week. I try to do at least 6,000 every day, though some days are harder to find the time than others.
Another statistic I know is that it takes me an hour per 1000 or so words.
I found the maniac, haha. 60.000 words is an actual entire novel, my gosh.

Around 2000 or so.
Inspiration isn't hard to get. Time to sit down and put it to practice, on the other hand...

Well, what I recommend when writing is having everything else that isn't related to the novel closed. If you have Spotify or YT music, that's a personal preference, but I like having distractions out of the reach of a single click. Else, it is easy to see a notification on something and say to yourself, "Five minutes won't hurt," or "I'll start again after watching this video."

It honestly happens to me more than I would like to.

That varies wildly. My peak performance is about 30k words a week, I managed to do that like three times in my life for a week or two each, but I usually hover between five and fifteen.

The problem is that a lot of it is not on stories I'm publishing, but on drafts and new projects, so my actual published number of words tends to be much lower.

Well, actually, that's not really the problem. The 'way' I write requires a certain rythm I can only really get into if I know I have a specific time window on my hands, you could call it an 'inertia' of sorts. You start a certain scene or section, then you can't stop 'till you finish that, because it all depends on that said rythm you're pouring into it, so you have to stay in the chair for a set time or it doesn't flow right.
If I try to do it in quick short bursts, it all feels empty and uninspired, since I'm just rushing it and gluing it together later.
Honestly, it's just impossible for me to properly write often at this specific time of the year. Never mess with the RL. Or it'll kick your ass.

300-400 a week currently. I was doing 30k a week for a short time, but ended up writing things that I didn’t like.
