If you want an old game to play why not try Higurashi. Chapter 1 and 2 were released in 2002, chapter 3 in 2003, chapter 4 in 2004, chapter 5 2006, etc.

ChäoS;HEAd NoAH is a remaster of a game made in 2008, however you will need to mod it if you want the full game since the English release cut alot of it out.

Steins;Gate came out in 2010 and is another old game you could try.

I was just playing Drakan: Order of the Flame. A game that came out in 1999.

Still better than a lot of games that came 20 years later. It was so ahead of its time.
