So I went and wrote the first chapter of a lit-rpg book I've been wanting to write but the first intro chapter is only 800 words and im a really slow author, does anyone think that's a problem?

Not really.
Write at your own pace and enjoy yourself while doing it.
If you're writing to gain lots of readers and popularity, though...then a more regular schedule would probably be needed.
Either way, just remember to have fun with it.

Good luck with your novel!

You could be a perfectionist like me. I write slowly because I want every word to matter. I find that writing on a computer actually slows me down because I wind up editing as I type, so instead, I write in paper notebooks and save the editing for later.

You're fine. For one of my novels, the word count is like 700 words a chapter. Just take your time and go at it at your own pace.

I just belted out 12,000 words for Flip the script last night because I was getting bored working on this pile of drivel. Broke it up into about 8 chapters, some are only 400 words some 3200. This was after taking off 34 days.

Some people like that dopamine hit of a cliffhanger. Some don't. If you are going for the crowd that likes a cliffhanger, then break it up like one chapter every one to three days. But most people like to binge read. So if the story is good, it won't matter. The question is, stick to a schedule. One chapter a week, a month, whatever, but stick to it. If you break the schedule, explain why. Right now I'm about mid way through book 2, so I can afford to flake out a little. I get new people dropping in every once in a while, binge the whole thing in five hours and go, "wow". So as long as I know I did quality work, I can focus on keeping the quality up.

Me? When the muse hits, it hits and I can write until I start to pass out because I forgot to eat. If I was smart, I'd post something every three days and that would buy me weeks to get ahead of things, but I can't just sit on what I wrote. So I drop it once a day, letting the audience get the full effect one after another bam, bam, bam.

If you want that dopamine/cliffhanger audience, 700 a chapter once a week ain't gonna cut it. You need at least 500 a day. break that 500/day any way you want, but you need 500 a day, minimum. 3500 in one day, or 1500, 1000, 1000 or 4000 in 4 days, whatever, but at least 500 a day and no more than 2 days between chapters.

Your call. Different stories have different methods. I like the cliffhanger. I like coming in with something that appears to have no bearing on the story, take a left turn, suddenly why I was explaining the history of a tower makes sense, then later on I keep coming back. As the story progresses, more and more tie-ins to that tower will appear. And then...

Switch scenes and come back to the scene I dropped in a few chapters as a flashback so suddenly everything falls into place with that one puzzle piece. BAM!

But if you make people wait too long, it doesn't work. I'd rather take a month off and then mainline the story in a burst, then stretch it out over twice a week 1-2k a chapter. It works better with my style. Your style may be different. Your story may be different. It all is dependent on how you want to tell the story.

I won’t block you since your not advertising your book, but you are asking if the amount you wrote is good… hm, 800 isn’t bad, but try 1000 if you can, but don’t just add 200 words of filler, but 200 to add onto the story or to help describe thing better. Or even better, better character conversations.

I'm inconsistent as an author. There are days where I write nothing at all, or write 500 words, then hit the sleep button. Or there are times where I explode and write 12k words and/or finish a story in four (4) days straight.

Thing is, in writing, there's no such thing as 'good' or 'bad' author based on word counts per day. What's important is, you get your story and ideas done.
