Smut writers, how do you do it?

I spent years roleplaying on tapestries, a heavily smut-inspired furry telnet-based text multi-user interspace. Heck, I actually met my wife of thirty years there.
Guess it's back when furries didn't equate to heresy.:blob_joy:
I left because the furries from the 2000s became entirely different from the ones in the 1990s—they got entirely too twisted for me. They used to be about sex, writing, adventures, and role-playing, and then they became about politics and trolls trying to catfish. Everyone loves a hentai catgirl. But giant herm centaurs are an acquired taste. Like two girls, one cup acquired.

It might still be a good source, though.
Hell no, not the two girls one cup, I can't tell you how I once searched the name and somehow stumbled into the uncensored cover. Ughh, I'm still scarred to date.

Yes, I do love hentai catgirls, and yes, I have no problem with herm centaurs, but not the cup, definitely not it.
Nah, more like having a RL partner but can't bend in fantastic ways makes more hentai.

Remember,

Well, I did learn that you can get NTR'd by fictional characters, so the opposite too works I guess. I think it'll get even worse when proper tech for tactile and sensory feedback for VR is developed.:sweating_profusely:

my two cents here: real sex, when you think about it, is kind of gross and messy and weird. it can be fun or poignant or angry or whatever mood - but it's still those first three things most of the time, too. sex that's too clean or logical tends to be very dry (pun intended) when read and is how you can loose the emotional roughness by trying to polish the wrong things about he scene too much.

so (as at least one other person said): embrace the cringe. as long as the emotion feels authentic, the sex can be as weird and messy and cringey as you like, because that's just kind of how sex is. and if you ever really need a boost, look up scenes that won the Bad Sex Awards and then remember most of those authors still write books with sex in them as a career.
