That the point, most stories with gender bending don't explore the pains and joys of transitioning, it become just a fact and nothing more was added about that. So what the point of doing a gender bending if it's only for one chapter and never talking about it again or explore it, just make it a girl or a guy instantly.

I might read it as gender bender, my fault there. And yes, that might be the writers who want to attract. I don't read that genre but I often found myself reading one and that was all time the case, the gender bending was smooth without a care to said or think anything about the sudden change.

However, I use the belief that if a SCENE is pornographic, that doesn't require the BOOK to be. The book can be read (and enjoyed) while skipping the sex. However, the sex is used to add 1, flavor. 2, examples of character growth, and yes, 3, it draws readers.

Reason 3 and the fact that some individuals prefer to skip such scenes are why I mark my chapters with NSFW. it draws in readers who wouldn't otherwise read it and it allows those who wish to read the story and skip "spicy" chapters to do so.

Also, while individual definitions may differ, I've long seen it like this: smut = plot with porn, Erotica = Porn with plot. Does the plot allow the porn without losing momentum, or does the porn use plot as a chance for the characters to rest between sessions.

Yeah I was just going by common webcomic tags. Webcomics don’t have “erotica” they have ecchi (horny but nothing happens) and smut (porn or porn with story) and hentai (straight-up porn).

My story has a sex scene but I worried that adding the smut tag would make it out like my story is sexy—when it’s actually psychological horror.
