Ever since I could remember, I would always take an afternoon nap at around an hour after lunch.

I still do the same when I can, as I've found that it helps me re-energize for the rest of the day and work without issue.

Do people take siestas, or is it just me?

I take a break day every couple days. At least twice a week. But midday naps... No. When I really get tired, the idea of getting up and going to bed seems like a lot of work.

Originally, according to what I read, siesta is a Hispanic thing, often a culture in places where midday sun is hot and people are forced to sleep it out.

But yes, siestas are a good way to recover one's energy halfway thru the day.

I do it to rest my eyes. I spend so much time staring at a screen of some sort so it's a welcome break to get my eyes off a screen.
