It won't take much of your time, I just want to see where I stand in terms of my writing skills. I am an amateur by the way.
I am having second thoughts of dropping this because I only wrote it on a whim. I also can't think of a better title that can represent my story, so I am kind of lost as to how I should continue it.

I have another original I am currently writing and an ongoing project so, I am having regrets as to why I started writing Meanest Mob.
This is my other original under rewriting process Everlasting Mage, If you are curious enough to see, I also posted it here

I have not read it, not going to critique as I believe if you enjoy writing it, even if you have to re-write it. You should do what you enjoy. From my understanding and quoting everyone who ever said this in one form or another. The best way to learn how to write, is write.

Just drop it, writing stuff on a whim is basically a cardinal sin of writing. Also why do you split your chapters of everlasting into decimal points?

I believe you can become a hell of a lot better at writing but you have to stay consistent king! Also, it would be best for you to build up a collection of favorite stories, and analyze the common themes, tropes, and styles in side of it. Analyze what makes them successful. Put yourself into the realm of greatness, to draw from it's wells.

Also how much do you write a day?

Yes, I admit that I am sinful for this whim. Everlasting is not much of a rewrite, I am only fixing its POV. Its title was 'Salamangka'. I started in RR, I just went to Scribblehub to see if there will be a difference. I wrote Slamangka last December, it was a hassle, hahahaha, since there's the writathlon challenge and so. Everlasting was in decimal since it's one chapter divided by about 500 words, sorry about that.

Meanwhile, I feel bad for the Meanest Mob leading to me seeking others' opinions. I did not write a draft for it, I just went and zooooommm. I felt immature writing something I didn't plan Judging by my backlogs, 'Meanest Mob' is kinda diverting from the Mobsekai I imagined.

Writing to me is a hobby. I never got the chance to show my parents that Creative Wring is as good as any degree out there. It is sad, but I don't want to write something I feel uncomfortable with given the lack of ideas, no plan, and the fact it's just a whim. As a self-learned writer, my learning trajectory will be stagnantly slow (Schools, exams, and whatnot). I learned a lot in my first work, and it takes a lot of boring work just to make a story readable.

Thank you for the advice, consistency is king! I will just have to take it at my own pace.
Very inspirational. But instead of quitting, I am more prone to restarting. Hahahaha. I have so many titles on my phone with 2 to 20 chapters, I can't decide where to focus. I guess, that's normal.
I don't write every day. I only write to relax my nerves from the stress of real life. Hahahaha. Very unprofessional, but if I put my mind to it, I can write 2000 words in two to three hours given that I already have a draft. If it's impromptu, then about 500 to 1000 words. The longest I can write accounting my stamina and typing speed, a maximum of 5000 words within 8 hours.

If you enjoy it, keep going. Don't worry about the quality. Just enjoy the process and when you're done enjoying it and feel like giving it a good polish, then edit.

Powering through is a mark of mastery in itself. It gets you on the precipice, from which you can swandive into true writing prowess.

Writing on a whim can be used for practice. Or for enjoyment. I think there's this "pulp" vs "literature" debate. If you're trying to write "literature" then you definitely have to plan everything, down to sentence structure, word choice, and pace. Like, everything has to be super deliberate. Also if you're trying to write "literature", the fuck are you doing on a webnovel site? :D

what helped me was lots of attempts at writing beforehand, little bits. I did some internet roleplays back in the day, and I also helped people plan their D&D designs. Then when I decided to come online for SH, I needed to stop myself from just... giving up. I wanted to write SOMETHING, and put it out there, for all to see. (and for, hopefully most to enjoy).

I chose NaNoWriMo as my opportunity. Measurable, but challenging target, and go. The hardest skill to overcome is Just Fucking Doing It. JFDI is hard, but if you can do it, then lots more props to you.

Also it helps to not be competitive with ratings/stats. Like it hurts when your precious work gets next to no following and then something you feel is blah gets like 10-30x the activity yours gets (GENDER-BENDER/GIRLS-LOVE!!!), and idk about you but that sting HURTS me, but when I calm down I realize that I probably have a small, silent, loyal readerbase. There's going to be one person you connect to. And that, means the world to me.

And reboot hell is a thing. If you can't break out of it, deploy multiple projects at once with different styles to give yourself more exposure. There's a difference between "20 years of writing experience" and "writing the same thing for 20 years"

Another trick may be beta reading or offering to help revise a friend's story. My host does this for a different SH author and.... makes a girl jealous :P

So yeah. Ya wanna learn2write? JFDI.

There's always a rewrite. Most successful web novels are rewrites or had parts from the author's other drafts.
I have so many titles on my phone with 2 to 20 chapters, I can't decide where to focus.
Cannibalize all the best ideas and then plan out a book. Otherwise, all those will just get wasted.
