Would it though? Understanding is the cornerstone of any long-lasting and strong relationship. If both were abandoned in the past they would understand the fear and the needs of the other. There wouldn't be much room for misunderstandings and less chances to accidentally hurt one another. Shared trauma is also known to be a strong bonding factor
