It's a spelling error I see a worrying amount of people make...
A similar error I see is when people say troupe instead of trope
A troupe is a group and is pronounced a similar way in that they both have an ooh sound
A trope is like rope, it ties a story into having pre-conceived expectations while sounding similar with an oh sound

True but tropes are quite interesting things.
