I was thinking about uploading a story that is 5 or 6 years old and is from another site. I am fairly sure it is not copyrighted in any way. I would just like to know if I want to upload it just what type of credit I need to give to the original author or alternatively, if Scribblehub even allows this at all.

Only upload if you have permission of the original author. It's scummy otherwise, even if done in good faith.

SH is a site for Originals, so it's expected to be the author of uploaded story. (Except with written permission)

Upload first then ask permission after, then delete to make people disappointed and go to original site away from SH

You would still need some form of permission. Neglecting/forgetting a story is not permission. If you so desired, you could share a link to the original story if you wanted to promote them.

I had already planned to promote them or at least have a link to let people know that this story is not original and that it was not written by me. I completely understand what you guys are saying and I guess I'll try and go get permission. Thanks for everyone's help tho!
