Had a dog that was shot dead and I never discovered who or why. Few days later, these three cats seemed to pop up out of nowhere in my yard. Lotta stray cats and dogs where I'm at, so I didn't think much about them. I would feed them if they were friendly, though I always chased off the ones who were hissy and unsocial with water guns. Well, these two were just so damn friendly. Rubbing on my leg, purring, All of that. I eventually adopted them and brought all of them inside. Don't know if they are brothers, but all of them won't go anywhere without the others. They refuse to even eat unless I put it all in one big bowl and have them all in the same room at the same time.
I went from pet-less to having 3 cats in a little short of a month's time. Weird how that works. I don't really like cats, but something about these kinda touched me. So for right now, my new cats are my focus. They sleep all day and spend half the night meowing and it's aggravating but I've already claimed them so I can't get too upset. My responsibility now. Good company though since NYC still pretending to be "quarantined".
Fucking expensive though. Cats seem to cost more than dogs, at least where I'm at.
