So, i was thinking of watching the original show before it gets rebooted by SHAFT.

My friend told me that its so bad. Is it really though?

I think it starts really strong, but the later seasons have some problems once you look at it a bit closer.
I still found it fun to watch, though.

S1: Pretty good. Obviously rough around the edges but has potential
S2: Really good. The show did what S1 did but upgraded practically everything
S3: Pretty good. Although it should have been postponed by a few seasons, it's still got a lot of flare and dramatic weight
S4: WTF: They seriously just took away what made it good in the first place and replaced it with confusion
S5: Even more WTF: They amplified the worst parts, destroyed characters, and nothing makes sense of what, where, and why. And the fights are fucking boring as hell which is what the show was great at to begin with.
S6: WTF: Better than the last two seasons cause they finally have a direction to push the story to, but otherwise its got all the same problems that the last two seasons had.

I dropped it after season 6 so I can't talk about S7 or 8 so someone else will have to do that for me.

Everything up until season 4 was good. Though after that it started going downhill and only got worse as it went.

Tbh, nobody who complains about it ever really explains what they dislike about it. They just say vague stuff like, 'RT ruined Monty's vision'- even though they have no idea what Monty was planning... Actually, there are some who have very specific complaints, but said complaints are homophobic/shipping related. Safe to ignore those.

I watch it on release. There are definitely things that could have been done better, but it's still worth watching.

I'll admit though, my absolute favorite thing about it is the music. To this day, I still regularly listen to and even sing along with RWBY music.
