RR vs SH stat comparison

As a comparison of RR vs SH, stats from my story that I published on both sites at the same time, beginning 9th Oct.
(I released 10 chapters on day one, then 5/wk. 41 chapters and 85k words to-date.)

RR: 17.7k views (432 average), 116 followers (readers, basically), 12 ratings, 9 reviews, 4.4 rating.
SH: 23.5k all views but the more comparable stat is 16.2k 'chapter' views (395 average), 336 readers, 14 ratings, 2 reviews, 4.9 rating.

Two polls (both sites similar responses across the options given):
11th Oct
SH: 66 respondents
RR: 54 respondents

16th Nov:
SH: 25 respondents
RR: 9 respondents

Comments:
RR: 132
SH: 91

Genres: Isekai, Fantasy, Adventure, Harem. (RR is apparently against harem, but there's still quite a few harem stories on there, and some of them seem to do ok).

Don't know if that's of interest to anyone, but figured I'd share.

That's partly because favourites mean different things on the respective sites. A favourite on RR is 'I like this story and I'm adding it to my list'. A favourite on SH is 'cool chapter bro'.

I do not know one way or another for bots, but I do know that there are people who follow stories via bookmarks and stuff rather than making an account. I do not know if anyone does that for SH stories, but I know people do that for RR stories.

At least the forum topics here are more interesting. I swear a robot is writing and spitting out several forum topics on RR daily, cause most of them I'm just thinking to myself, 'what is even the point?' "Describe your character in the worst way?" "Drop the first two lines of your first chapter?" (similar stuff on daily refresh)

Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't feel like it is something actual real people would spend time looking into (reading or replying). And yeah, sometimes it makes it feel like SH gets occasionally more dumpster fire posts from people I don't know, but aye, more entertainment, right?

can confirm. I read some RR exclusives there, but I would not make an account for it. Since I do not like their overly complex review system, being unable to review is no issue.

I like reading more on RR, but I prefer the forums here.

Basically, I find better stories on RR. But the social engagement is preferable here.

While it's not me bragging about his story or anything, the main reason I came to SH initially, was because I heard that (beast_regards) had dropped RR and moved here and at the time, his was the only story I was actively following. I've found others on RR since then, but at the time, his story was the catalyst needed to make an account on SH.

I noticed SH's forums were pretty active from a few casual glances over time. I got sick of RR's forums. Believe it or not, there are more people like that imbecile (CrazyMinh) in RR's forums than here in SH. For a while, RR forums weren't very active. People just congregated to RR discord rather than use forums. Then someone at RR had the bright idea to remove the link to RR discord so that new people joining the site couldn't get to the discord as easily, which in hindsight, did cause forum activity to increase. I'm not sure if they intended that, or it was just a happy side-effect for them.

Nowadays, you can't get into RR discord without someone already in it, sending you an invite. When I tried to enter RR discord last year or the year before last, I was told by Kanadaj that he was told to remove the permanent access link by RR's boss, PengWing or something...

For those who don't know, Kanadaj is like the second-in-command of RR or something. He's a mod like that John guy, but Kanadaj handles more the site-running business than just modding.

As a fanfiction writer, I feel like SH is way better! I get more comments, and people seem overall more hyped and interested in my story here.

I have around 400 readers on SH compared to only 92 followers on RR. Yet, the number of total views is nearly the same, about 40k.

RR seems to treat fanfiction as a second-class genre, banning it from contests, and fanfiction stories rarely get any promotion there. Surprisingly, on SH, my story is ranked No. 1 on the daily trending list!

The SH community is smaller but, in my experience, far more suitable for fanfiction. RR is without a doubt the larger site and the potential reader pool is WAY larger. Anyway I'll continue to upload my story to both sites.

Tangentially related, I keep meaning to get rid of my Wattpad account but then I get a little notification that someone else has added my story to one of their lists and... I can't! I can't do it!
