Totally different, but related, experience.

This illustration's creation process video was nearly banned on my Tiktok page because apparently, it's sexual. (Had to appeal again for it to be put on the recommended videos)

While I'm not allowed to say that word in my relig, I see this as an absolute win.

So, I'll clarify some of my points and then leave this pointless conversation. (pun intended)

1. There is a policy initially pushed by women that "it's not ok to sexualize woman body for ads" that ended up to be so vaguely defined that now it's not ok to ask even slightly attractive woman to advertise something without risking being hounded later for breaking this policy. Some companies take bigger risk with it and somehow manage to get away with what they do while others prefer to simply exclude anything even slightly suggestive to be completely safe, fictional or not.
2. Readers who'll see ads and your cover art are from our world and operate under morals and norms that belong here, not there. So you simply can't use "it's from fictional universe" escape card on them, they don't care. Some of them will not even read your book and will only see your cover and will be triggered or aroused by it. And both those outcomes often lead to complications and are not desirable by ad networks operating outside of adult content.
3. If you don't want to conform to rules and would rather wear a swimsuit to the office, that's your choice and right to do, but don't expect others to conform to your wants and expectations either.

Also, before anyone points out the obvious, yes I know Tiktok is a Chinese app. But their pandering to Westies in an effort not to get banned there yielded stupid and hypocritical policies and moderation.

I wasnt advertising wearing a swimsuit to the office. A swimsuit is situational wear. Just like the space suit is situational to my cover character in her role.

As for the rest of what you said, we'll see. Censorship is losing the war across the internet as more people step up and say no to it, and switch to other platforms; and Google is one of the least moral companies around, so they have zero moral leeway to be calling any shots on anything.

It would imply that selecting the correct picture makes the difference. We are talking about a site where people randomly review bomb your story from multiple accounts because it has colour green in it, or use letter "A" or simply because they can.

Not just that, but google includes adult images in their image search. They just give users a toggle to block it out.

The Royal Road has this feature as well.

It's called "sexual content" tag you have selected, it does indeed hide so called "adult" content, plus they do have a software that essentially auto-moderate the pictures or even can compare the content to what is sold on Amazon.

However, since there aren't any negative consequences for putting additional stress into the authors, or stressing them out is even desirable as their entire business scheme is based on a cycle of conflict like the social media, they aren't simply satisfied with the common sense approach where authors tags their stuff and are done with it. They could demand changed on the whim, put even more restriction just to be safe side there is less work overall, not to mention ... what are you going to do?

The facts thing was directed at Star.
So you're saying no one will look at that woman in a onesie and say "hey I'm turned on and would like to get intimate."

No one, will look at your cover and think "thick body, I want some of that."

I mean, if you believe that, then you do you.

Accodring to AI:
Sexy is a more broad definition of allure,
Sexual in nature implies a desire for physical contact.

The point being made is that there are enough people who'd want to 'bonk' your character on the cover. Therefore, it is sexual in nature... and all your statements about 'projecting'...

They both overlap a ton, and this whole thing is semantics. If you disagree with that, it's fine too, there is no point in arguing over semantics.

As far as projecting, You're the one projecting your insecurities of things being potentially sexual in nature. None of us really care one way or the other.

The only problem in this thread is that RedMuffin wanted you to understand what he was saying and somehow you refused to do so and started attacking him (saying someone is projecting without understanding what it is, is an attack) instead of just trying to understand his statement. Even if you disagreed, that's fine, but there's no need to go off on tangents.

Anyway, what we do agree on:

We all hate censorship.
Your cover is good with all of us here, whether we think it's sexual in nature or not.

So Welcome to SHF.

There must be something about your story that draws in people who are not looking for romance to start reading it anyway.

I've had my romantic story on there for two years and I have never received a complaint about the romance or similar content.
It isn't a romance book but there are relationships between most characters built up throughout the story. I like when games have love routes in them and I include it in my stories. It makes me feel full. The problem is that seemingly most active commenters there hate the fact they never experienced love in their life and in turn hate anything romance-related sub-plots.

One more cat picture.
Delivered on my profile. Are you using this as an excuse to look at cat-girls in tight outfits? Did this thread taught you nothing?

The only problem in this thread is that RedMuffin wanted you to understand what he was saying and somehow you refused to do so and started attacking him (saying someone is projecting without understanding what it is, is an attack) instead of just trying to understand his statement. This implies that it is somehow possible to have a mature discussion with the MJ, where two adults communicate using reason, logic or a and common sense. That's a pretty wild claim.
