A lot of readers looking for a novel they like.

A lot of authors who are offended that you have one more reader than they do and will try to tear down your work mercilessly for any mistake you make with any argument that crosses their minds.

Post your novel there if you want more readers, but don't make it your main site if you want to keep a calm mind.

Red Hunter is right, it's good but when some people want to bring you down over there their friends would help them and it's not a pleasant thing to see

Okay I know i privately am sometimes sad when i see authors with high dopamine numbers and then read their chapters and be like "my first drafts are better"

but this seems very next level and terrifying. I am thinking of cross posting to RR, so this'll be interesting.

I hope i find some nice community there and not a flamewar waiting to happen

I didn't have anyone saying a bunch of mean things when I cross posted there but I've looked at comments on other people's novels that are very blunt.

I just use drafts tab in RR. I don't even visit my dashboard.

The Battle Royal of all novel sites. Not for the faint of heart. But some really awesome people there too.

That's a pretty good description. People definitely take things more seriously over there, for better or for worse.

Go hang out on the RR forums for a while and watch for threads complaining about poor ratings and negative reviews/comments. There's no way to completely avoid haters, especially if your story gets popular, but it helps if you learn to avoid some common triggers. (Such as posting in the forums to complain about poor ratings, ironically enough. Trolls love kicking people when they're down.)

My personal experience over there has been really good. I literally get 20x the views I get here, and the comments have been 95% positive/constructive. But it helps a lot that I'm not writing anything particularly controversial. Certain topics will attract criticism no matter how well they're written.
