Recommendations?

Lately, I've been in kind of a reading funk, and I've fallen behind. Nothing is satisfying me. And well...I'm pretty sure you can guess where this is going, so I'll only say just a little bit. :) I want you guys to recommend me books, whether on this site or not. I am open to reading most genres, with a few that I'll have to say no to (sorry), and it can be on here or not.
1. SO. I'm fine with fantasy, because I know that that's like the most popular on here, but I don't want to read about animals or werewolves. Those just don't tickle my brain.
2. I don't wanna read smut. Not my thang, if y'know what I mean.

Anything else is pretty much fine by me. I like a lot of genres, like dystopian, contemporary, tragedy, realistic tragedy, old literature, fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, romance, humor, mystery, thriller, historical. Whatever is great! ?

Well, if you're really desperate, and not on mobile (the links don't appear for mobile users) you could check out the stuff in my signature. Jack Diamond likes to tease smut but not deliver it (he's a gentleman. more or less) - kind of noir-ish, horror adjacent, superhero stuff. Between Worlds (fantasy set on two worlds... so far) kind of gets close to smut every few chapters but does not dwell on it much and it's not a big part of the story. Strange Awakening (slice of life, gender bender, urban fantasy, superhero weirdness) comes a bit closer at times, but less often, and has more intentional comedy.

If your looking for a sci-fi story stray cat strut and its fanfiction are good though some do have animal characteristics like fox ears

A darkish story with trans themes is the sisters of dorley but be very careful as it's a very emotional book that works heavily with morally gray themes

I really love Let's not [obliterate] as a gl romance of a completely depressed "hero" refusing to complete their mission. I really love how this story uses time and immortality to show the lethargic and depressed main character slowly getting feelings for the little munchkin of chaos.

Nerf the archer is a newish story about a vr game that a real archer played that got made into a vrmmo. The story is a comedy and includes many fun elements like exploits and glitches irresponsible players and realistic NPCs.
I'm kinda really hoping that this one in particular continues as it has a lot charm Evan with a overly skilled main character.
