What I don’t get about jiraya, guys a powerful ninja who can make money.

If he wanted he could pay for a prostitute, if he wanted a woman he could probably find one who wasn’t tsunade.

Jiraya had PTSD and severe alcoholism which totally killed his motivation to get a real job (just like me). Even his novels were only ever considered sleeper hits at best, with poor sales all across the board.
