Putting a link in your signature lines or posts (or both) can help (there's instructions in the tutorial in the Scribblehub General area or you can trial and error it like I did - not recommended, by the way). Also having a good selection of "Tags" - especially "popular" ones - and actually delivering on them - can help.
Also having at least ten chapters - and 20 and 50 seem to be the real "sweet spots" for attracting readers.

Engaging in feedback/critique/review swaps in the feedback board can help too.

I think that getting more readers depends on several factors, and three that have a lot of weight are: 1. algorithm, 2. tags, and 3. author persistence and their promotion on forums.

Because there are many stories that only gain a certain number of readers after 18 to 40 chapters have been published and at a high frequency.

Besides, I feel that there are many authors who have more than 15 thousand views on their story, but when you look at the author's profile, they will have less than 1/4 of the monthly followers.

The only advice I can give you is: Don't get discouraged, keep posting chapters for your story frequently, forget about enjoying writing and wanting your story to be somewhere other than on the pages of a notebook or in a file on your computer, don't put too much pressure on yourself or think that the problem is with you and your story, write regardless of whether you have readers or not.

Post your story! :) And at least write 25k words before even caring about readers!

These Fake follows serve no purpose... this is not a contest on who has the bigger numbers... ;)
Doesn't matter if your story has 10 or 100 readers.
