These are a bunch of just random questions that I have:
How to get more views?
How do you get more favorites?
Do rankings truly matter?
How do you tell the reader just exactly what you think a place looks like without doing like a thousand words about it?

Write more. Write good. Post more. Advertise.
How do you get more favorites?
When readers like it more.
Do rankings truly matter?
Depends how far attached you are to trending.
How do you tell the reader just exactly what you think a place looks like without doing like a thousand words about it?
You tell them straightforward.

You get more views by releasing more chapters on a GOOD story. Then promote it like crazy.

You wait until someone wants to click the heart icon on a chapter. That's all you can do.

Yes, rankings matter but only if you are in the top 25 of a genre. You can get a higher ranking based on your views.

Use proper descriptions.

You get more views by staying on trending or being high in search categories. You do this by writing more. It's a cycle where more views help you get even more views.

Get more favorites by writing well and asking your audience to favorite it if they liked it.

Rankings don't matter for growth. Simply because you'll probably never outpace an established story. They are helpful as a comparison though.

You don't. Try to keep the descriptions simple. Describe things that are only important thematically or are necessary for the scene to play out. You just have to hope your audience knows how to imagine a scene. An example would be to describe the space as clutter rather than describing all the clutter.

For views, you need to advertise.
SH comes with a few ways to do that. A new story will be on the 'Latest Series' tab, which is the best way to advertise initially.

Trending is technically better, but it's not something you can aim for and get easy-peasy.

The most reliable method is the 'Latest Updates' tab. Your story will appear there every time you upload a chapter. To take advantage, you need to upload at various times so that different people will see the story. If you upload at the same time every day, then the same users will see it and either already have it on their list, or just ignore it like they ignored it last time.

There's also 'Similar Stories' and Tags. If you properly apply the 25 tags you're allowed to use, whenever somebody searches for those tags they will see your story. Other stories that have similar tags will link yours on their page as well, meaning if your story is similar to a popular story, it will get more views. It's good to have a mix of popular tags and uncommon tags since that will help people find you. However, you have to remember that any tags you add that don't describe the story will make readers who wanted those tags angry.

Lastly is the Signature on this forum. Anyone who sees your comments will see a link you post there and have the option of following it to your story.

Outside of the inbuilt functions, you can always advertise your story directly on social media sites.

Favorites don't matter, except to boost your self esteem. The only way to get more is to have readers who enjoy clicking the little heart button. You can try to remind them to click it, but since it does nothing there's no point.

Rankings don't matter- sort of. If your story is number one ranked in a tag, then it's the first thing they'll see when they search for that tag. So it indirectly raises view count. That's all.

Telling the reader how something looks is a matter of personal taste.
Try to rely on assumptions when you can, only point out things that make what you're describing different from normal or important.
For example, a table is a table. But a metal table with magical symbols engraved on it is different. It's important if those sigils cause anyone who touches the table to have visions of distant locations.
But then... If you just need to put papers on it, does it really matter if it's made of oak or yew?

1. Make story profile picture be a half naked waifu.
2. Actually write a decent story.
3. Yes and no; they have no direct gain, but when someone clicks on your story and sees that you're #1 in thinghere there's a chance that they might get interested in reading just to find out why you've got the ranking itself.
4. You don't and you definitely don't want to do that. The things that people love the most are the ones they can fantasize by themselves about.

1. I don't know but maybe the genres you're going for and the tags.
2. the same as my 1st answer
3. No, it only says that you've been favored and many loves your work. You should just ignored and do it for fun. :)
4. So you have to imagine the place. how do you feel about it? What will be the reaction of your mc upon reaching that place? Are there people there? Are they happy in this place? And lots.
