So ive asked tis question on facebook and got some interesting answers but its been a few years and i never thought to ask it here so here goes.

You have a two month head start on a system apocalypse. You are given a device that will let u jump through the multiverse 5 times to recruit help, aquire tech, magic, mats. If u try to jump ship and aren't back before the apocalypse starts u forfeit all prep and u will be transported back to earth to a random location(90% chance to die).

When apocalypse starts all pre apoc tech stops working unless worked on by someone with appropriate skills

What 5 worlds would u choose and what would u bring back. Keep in mind if u go somewhere like Pacific Rim and bring back Jeagers the system will start spawning kaijus. Your mission is to try to keep as many people alive as possible

You mean fictional worlds?

And what is a "system apocalypse"?
In order yes and the world becomes gamelike with monsters magic dungeons skills and quests. more often than not it fries all pre system tech wich causes chaos that leads to people dieing when the monsters start spawning

I thought it's a pointless endeavor since anything you brought back will be before the apocalypse in your timeliness and be rendered powerless. Since

"When apocalypse starts all pre apoc tech stops working unless worked on by someone with appropriate skills "

What that sound like to me is even if i bring a bottle of painkillers it's still pre-tech and would not work without a "skill"

So I'll just wait around.

I mean... there are a few characters that can singlehandedly keep everyone alive.
Sure but if u go too far with it the system will monkey paw u

The stuff u bring back wouldnt be considered preapoc tech

I'd just say "fuck it" and smash the damn thing. Sometimes it's better to be ready to lose than die trying.

Personally my plan goes like this
World 1 Emerilia by Michael Chatfield bring over the entire magic system and runic tech along with recruiting Dave Graslagg(MC)
World 2 Voltron Legendary Defender from Netflix bring over beyards and how to make them and the Castle of Lions as a unique item
World 3 mixed Earth recruit the G.I.Joe renegades the A-team the Knight Rider team bring over Cobra tech like the X-2 transport truck and Mars industries weapons tech
World 4 Transformers Prime recruit the autobots and bring back ground-bridge tech
World 5 ???

Jump 1: Go to Amber to Walk the Pattern and maybe recruit Corwin
Jump 2: Go to Chaos to Walk the Logrus and maybe get Merlyn on board
Jump 3: Go to the world of Thundarr the Barbarian to bring back the post apocalypse tech/magic and maybe a couple of allies
Jump 4: A world using the Dungeons and Dragons (pre-3rd edition) rules to track down a Daern's Instant Fortress (or whatever the specific world calls it) just in case things go blooey so we have a place to hide out.
Jump 5: The world of the Legion of Superheroes (ideally Pre-Crisis) to get some far future tech and some allies, hopefully at least one of the following: Mon-El, Superboy (hence the "ideally Pre-Crisis" part), Ultraboy and/or ERG/Wildfire just to have some real heavy hitters.

Jump 1: Go to "Japan" and recruit the Precure. There's nearly a hundred of of them and each one equals a kaiju at minimum. They also have a convenient repair burst that fixes all environmental damage from their fights when their transformation is undone.
Jump 2: Go to Scribblehub and recruit Chaos God Paytoechip. Because post apoc humans should grow fluffy tails.
Jump 3: Go to the world of "The Lolis of Doom" and recruit said doombringers. There's only a few of them, but they each specialize in fighting alone against pantheons.
Jump 4: Go to "Magical Girl Crystal Genocide" series and recruit the whole rainbow of magical girls. They have some very conceptual methods of combat, particularly Fractured Time and Rending Nightmare. Crystal genocide can conjure vast quantities of mineral resources as well.
Jump 5: Go to "Chronicles of Sol: The Fall" and recruit the enterprise. Here be science.
