Do you readers like swear words in your novel. In your opinion, does that make the novel have more wit?

Depends on how it is used.
Excessive swearing just because the author isn't creative enough to use other words can get pretty boring and repetitive.
I don't need to read a work with "fuck" in every other sentence. There is a fine line between cheap and witty-profane writing. It's a bit like socializing, it has to fit the occasion/scenario. Otherwise, it's just distracting.

It also depends on character for me. You can't make a goody-two-shoes swear like a drunk 40y/o alcoholic in his mid-life crisis.

Can get annoying easily. Most characters are fine if they swear a little, for example, it is normal/understandable to swear when you get hurt. If it fits the character e.g. a sailor or something, then cussing is a must obviously.
But I don't know why swear words would be witty.

I think that example is a bit overboard.

Depends on the situation and characters. Swearing can make things feel more authentic.

If you said "your brain makes me remember diarrhea" instead of "you shithead" then I can see some wit maybe. And saying poopy head is also still swearing at someone, just much tamer.
