I have a question about this particular story below. Its an interesting story. I like it. But I wondered if some of the ... mature scenes would necessitate a writer putting the horror tag up? (orcs r@p1ng women). Also with scenes like that is it going to get readers to ditch the story?

I am not connected to that story below but wondered about this. And its making me wonder if some chapters where I had strong scenes if they should be softened in my own stories. When I had previously used another site I kept running into sabotage. And wondered if partly some people just can't resist the torch buttons if they can't handle certain scenes? (Although I have mitigated my scenes here as much as possible.) And I used a non-affiliated story as an example that's not connected to me in anyway. (And this story below is quite good.)

Warning; Mature themes; https://readmanga.cc/manga/another-world-survival-min-maxing-my-support-and-summoning-magic

I have a content warning above all my chapters if there could be hard to stomach scenes. But you have the sexual violence tag too. I just like to warn my readers before the chapter too.

Taking into consideration what is common now days in a lot more graphic media I would say nothing is mature anymore... Goblin slayer anyone?
How about ninja scroll? Berserk? Nah there is nothing we can write that is actually "over the top". there is no top anymore.

Never censor yourself unless you want to hate your own story. No matter what we write, there'll be people loving and conversely hating it. Can't be helped really. The best we can do is to tag it properly.

Well, I cant write sex or romance related scenes, couse I feel sick. I hate writing that crap. So I just skip it when ever I can (all the time).

If you write a chapter like that just put a warning in the beginning and have a tag for it I guess… but censoring yourself too much will just end with no one being happy be it yourself or your actual readers… some people will inevitably complain and probably throw a hissy fit about it but they’ll do that with anything-nyah.

:) Actually I like the idea that a series isn't dependent on sex scenes either. I think if the story is to survive it should be strong enough without them also. You brought up some good ideas.

Although its hard to not make a story and get enough people interested without some form of romance. I do like harem and romance.

Very true. Sometimes people can be hard to predict. :O

Beginning of the chapter or beginning of the story?

I think a warning at the beginning of the specific chapter might diminish the shock value and emotional impact on the reader.

The better solution would be to put a warning at the start of the story itself about the kind of content in the work. This also means that people who can't stomach it won't waste their time investing in the story before the scene.

Either or both would work… as long as there is a warning it’ll be fine… though if the story doesn’t consistently delve into those themes then a warning in the beginning of that specific chapter would be smart as the shock value has less importance… while stories that delve into such subjects consistently will be better off with a warning at the beginning of the story or in the summary-nyah.

Technically, the shock value has more importance if it's rare, thus more shocking.

I was thinking more like if the topic wasn’t the main part of the chapter but something that happened in the background but in a noticeable way… like a scene that includes child abuse but the chapter isn’t focused on said situation as much as a bandit attack that happens on the village simultaneously… the bandits showing up would likely be more important than the side thing with the child-nyah.

Orc graping woman is sexual violence not horror, unless it also mutilated and ate her afterward (like that "bowling ball stuffed by oversized sausages" scene in Evertales).

But honestly I believe the author should be upfront and put a warning on your story's main page, then present each chapter as is to preserve the shock value. It allows people who dislike such scenes to steer clear of the story from the start and also attracts people who like them.
