Question on troll reviews?

So I wanted to ask...

How well do admins etc handle taking down 1 star troll reviews?

This is a question for authors so I'm pretty sure you know what I mean...when a guy admits he hasn't even read the story and is just raising hell and gives you 1 star reviews because he thinks he can.


**If the author and the story have shown themselves to have a lot of work in them, and quite a bit of effort has been done, there really shouldn't be anything below a midpoint review. (3 stars out of 5). A 1 or 2 star (out of 5 stars) really should only be for unfinished sloppy work that's not even half done. If something is considered a finished work they shouldn't get the same grading and something that's on the level of written by a 5 year old.**

I've never complained to the admins about troll reviews, and all of my troll reviews are still up. Unless you complain about them, nothing will happen with them. Personally, I just view it as a hazard of living in a world with assholes in it.

If he said he didn't read the novel, I would remove it but he said:

Well, I can't say that I've read too far into the book, but it's still a fair review.

He said he hasn't read too far into the book. His review looked fair to me. Sorry but I can't remove that review in this case.

Just because you wrote a bunch of pages doesn't mean you automatically deserve a minimum of 3 out of 5. That's basically saying everyone deserves a shiny trophy for participation only. That's terrible logic.

I remember Naosu from RR. Any time someone said something even remotely negative about his novel, he immediately started crying out troll. He literally has no idea what an actual troll is. I looked at several reivews and comments in the chapter comment section that he claimed was done by trolls...and all they said was they disliked it, and they even went so far as to point out why they hated it. Gave clear-cut reasons. Some of these co-called 'troll posts' even offered suggestions. They didn't just spew insults and then move on. Not good enough for Naosu. He needs absolute adoration and praise from his fans, and silence from anyone else, otherwise he has a problem and he automatically labels it a 'troll problem'.

People like this are why the word troll has almost no impact any longer.

Naosu has no idea what a troll. is. To him, its anyone who says ANYTHING that doesn't stroke his ego. Watch, he'll be the next person flooding forums with complaints about 1-star ratings. Then eventually, he'll just cry troll over and over and then leave here too. Dude just can't handle criticism. I liked some of his work, but his attitude is what made me drop everything of his.

Well, you are totally right. Quality is always the decisive element to conclude whether that is a good fiction. Quantity, nah, can't prove anything.

If I lose readers, it's by my own merits. Not by some random cunt who couldnt recognize Mt.Tai (in this case, my masterful work of fiction dwarfing the splendor of heaven itself)

I think the reviewer did make an effort to read the story; it's just that, it wasn't up to his standards.

Perfect World the MMO? That, and I think it was called (Jade Empire or something) were two I wanted to get into but never did. Nowadays I'm wanting to try Blade and Soul but can never find the time for it.

Wait. No I think I did try it for like a few minutes. But it was on my chromebook and i stopped cuz i couldnt get my dualshock to work on it.
