Technically, what I want to ask is if anybody here has officially copyrighted their works? Was reading through the ToS of Royal Road and under copyright protections, they linked this site: http://www.copyrighted.com/

Some might find it overkill but I do know some people who have felt safer with an added insurance of having their works copyrighted. Especially if said work has been posted online.

The first thing to do should be to check the copyright laws of the country you're from. For example, where I come from you have the copyright automatically upon creation so registering it would be kind of pointless.

I did hire an anti-piracy agency some time back though. Now, I wouldn't do so anymore because it eats a lot of money with time and I seriously doubt that my income would get that much higher. Tbh I was doing it mostly because I didn't want others to profit off my work but I think it wasn't the right way to achieve that. The copyright infringement went down a lot since I started posting the stuff for free by myself though. Now whether it gets pirated mostly depends on where I post my stuff (webnovel is a really bad place in that regard, wattpad is better and Tapas worked the best besides my own website; can't say anything about Scribble Hub yet). So I think that's the better way for me but everyone has to decide that for themselves.

Yeah, automatic copyright in my country too.
It appears that the website has some extra benefits, though.

Have you heard of Blasty yet? It’s a good way to monitor your stories so it won’t be copyrighted.
