Three guys from Texas were transferred by their employer to a rural town in upstate New York. They figured joining the church was a good way to get to know the community.
They were greeted warmly, and asked to take part the annual Christmas show. Since there were three of them, they were cast as the Wise Men. They were given the script, and told that they needed to get their own costumes.
The weeks went by, and they came to every rehearsal, helped making props and scenery, and everything seemed great until they showed up at the dress rehearsal wearing firefighter gear.
The pastor was aghast. "What the heck is this? You're not supposed to be dressed like that!"
One of them said, in his West Texas drawl, "We're the three men who came from a fire!"
