How do I get more people to like my novel?

I mean I get I have to wait till they notice my novel. But I notice a lot of people SEE it, but they hardly read it. And well, my project is a passion project- so a lot of thought has gone into it. So does anyone have any tips and tricks to help a newbie out?? It would be must appreciated!!!

How do you guys tackle Tags?

I'm new and I understand that tags should be used when there is an abundance of-- or strong focus on-- common themes and tropes. What you can assign are 9 genre niches and 25 tags on SH and I'm a bit overwhelmed. The genres were easy since I know what my stories fall under in that regard, but...

Okay so first thing I would recommend is consistent updates. The longer your novel stays on the homepage, the better. It's also great that you already have plenty of tags. Those are also important for visibility. Your average word count is good!

Haha! Daily chapters seem too much, but I do weekly, and I’m pretty consistent with that. I don’t have the free time to post daily chapters and it will reduce the quality of my work, cuz I take roughly 2-3 days for a 1k-1500 word chapter and another 2 days to edit it.

I noticed all the chapters were posted the same day, I think if there is more than 3 in a day then it thinks the author is just trying to bump it to get it on the latest chapters list and will hide it. So maybe don't post so many at a time. Also, looks like many of the chapters have the same name. This is confusing to readers so maybe fix that.

In fact, I think the algorithm should choose a random number of days as it is quite too obvious what is happening here. Too many people use a two-day interval, as the algorithm is relative.

It means that you want to lowball and then explode to make it into trending. 1 view on day 1, 1k views on day 2. That is what you want. The more sly ones post multiple chapters at a single day to get this bonus.

That is why it is actually counter productive to post daily.

I’m cross-posting from tapas, I’ve been releasing for over 2 months there so those are all the released chapters I have. The rest will be weekly as from tomorrow, and the titles are POVs; game of thrones esque style. Thanks for replying, I really appreciate

Btw, I've remembered something. If I'm not wrong, you kinda killed your novel. Was it you who uploaded all of the available chapters in one bulk? The most important time in getting views is when you appear on latest series and latest updates. You see, when you upload a lot of chapters in a quick succsession the system considers it a spam and hides you from latest updates for some time. So now, with 100 views it will be hard to recover. It's not impossible to recover from this, but it's going to be really hard.

That doesn't apply to a new novel on SH because it will be visible on the new novel section. Only after the first day does that really apply.

I was also wondering, is Royalroad and scribble connected? It’s as if top novels on Royalroad are also top on scribble

Everyone of the heavy hitters know it. Do you think they are for fun here? On RR it is the same. They are just waiting for the new algortihm to be broken and read again, so that they can adjust after the latest update.
