i am only writing this for bragging right. if any of these predictions come true i would have prove that i knew it and posted it somewhere on the internet.

string theory would be absolutely wrong and lead no where
proton decay won't happen

lot of geniuses would be born between 2006-2015

next big achievement in quantum mechanics would be by AI

sapient AI won't be made for a long time

space travel would either be impossible or only possible to stars outside earth's particle horizon.

no going to alpha centuri. More like one way trip to stars whose light has never reached us till this point. outside earth's particle horizon/

With more bets on it being completely impossible.

the next innovation in space travel would be by cryogenic sleep not by faster than light rockets.

Computers won't go faster we would be able to slow down or metabolism enough that we won't need to wait for anything.

like when one second would pass for us one day would have passed outside.

the next important thing would be related to AI and biology

We aren't going to meet any aliens.



Most likely scenario is humanity is going to stop in it's devlopment eventually because we ran out of a element on earth which is extremmly important for new technology.

a very random example (i have no idea about fusion but it is just a example):fusion needs an isotope of lithium which we can't find on earth.

This isn't really a prediction, it's already been stated. The vaccines we have now don't create sterilized immunity, which is what we would need to only take it once. Very few vaccines work this way, sadly. It's the holy grail of vaccine research.

You have interesting ideas, but I must contradict you in terms of "the next big innovation in space travel".

Arguably, the most recent and still evolving one is propulsive landings for reusing boosters. If we are going to consider all of the innovations of Starship as just an outgrowth of that, I'd say the next big spaceflight innovation is in space refueling, as that will enable our exploration of the solar system.

After that, probably in space manufacturing.... suspended animation is a long ways away.

Some of my own predictions:

The world in the next few decades will make much greater efforts to combat climate change, through renewables, efficiency in existing system, carbon capture, and other efforts. We will avoid the worst case scenarios for climate change, but still deal with a lot of damaging climate disasters, particularly in places like sub saharan Africa.

Much of the work to combat climate change will occur through natural consumer incentive to shift to renewable options in utilities and vehicles. Electric vehicles will win out. It will become common practice to roof your home with solar shingles. Houses will be connected to each other and stabilize power generation. This may occur in the next few decades. A bit further on, viable fusion technology will be found. Depending on public opinon of anything with the word "nuclear" in it, this could either be a savior from energy woes or could be protested against because people fail to understand the science behind it.

Automation of cars with self driving tech will have a big impact on things. By mid-century, robotaxis may become commonplace, eliminating the need for many people to own their own vehicles. This same technology will eliminate many jobs, most notably truck drivers and crews on freight trains.


In the next decade, a growing force in technology will be spaceflight. Space tourism will kick off in the next few years from Blue Origin and Virigin Galactic, with SpaceX allowing orbital flights.

Commercial space operations, both scientific research and manufacturing will begin this decade, especially once the Axiom space station begins construction.

Starship will be the biggest game changer, enabling the building of large space stations, lunar bases, and perhaps establishing a human presence on Mars by the end of the decade.


Computer technology will continue improving, but slow down in coming decades. This is due to Moore's Law, an observation that predicts that computing power doubles every eighteen months. Chips will become too small to hold an electric charge. The power that the tech industry has had may substantially decline as a result, but may not if transition to other forms of computing are done effectively.

AI will continue being a major technological force, making many things possible, but also causing cultural upheaval as things like deepfakes become easier to make. Conflicting views about online law and privacy will continue. Automation in many fields will be a big issue, not just transportation as I mentioned before, but as AI grows more complex it will enable many companies to get rid of workers.

Consumer technology will slow down. Phones already have less hype than they once did, resolution can now go beyond that of the eye's ability to perceive, and other factors will contribute to consumers buying less tech. Games will be the only force in tech where people have much incentive to get new products, but already the differences between past generations in games are thinning.


Something big this century will be rise of genetic editing through tools like CRISPR. It is difficult to say what we could see in the coming century, but things like designer babies could become a big ethical issue. More accepted technologies in genetic editing have the potential to do unbelievable amounts of good in biomedical applications, especially with cancer and genetic diseases.

One biomedical tech could be the printing of organs. Space manufacturing would make such a thing easier. If this could be done on a large scale, it could do a lot to help people.


On that note, 3D printing will become engrained in all our lives. it will make homes, machines, furniture, and more. It may spark big debates about ownership and impact makers of consumer products when their products can just be printed rather than bought.


In terms of broader societal events, focus on the Middle East will decline as transition to renewables continues. China will become a larger world power than it already is.

Conflicts will break out due to climate change, especially in Africa. The next major war will be between the US and its allies, and China and its allies.


Culturally, the world will continue moving away from traditional ideas of morality and towards modern liberal ones. This will manifest in continued trends of declining religious observance. The continued trend will keep sparking cultural conflict.


That's just some of my scattered predictions for the next century. I credit Michio Kaku for some of the more scientific ones and the youtube channel Whatifalthist for the more societal trends.

I think things won't be extremely bad in the future as some posit, but they will surely be difficult. The world will change in ways it never has, and this will cause massive societal upheaval.
