So, I started a new book. Fellow Scribblehubbers helped me brainstorm it. I have the first 4 chapters ready, and I will soon edit them.

The problem is, that I already update 7 stories, all of which are complete. Do you think my readers will get fed up with me, if I pile up this story on top of their reading list as well? It is just that updating a story gives me extra motivation.

What would you do in my situation?

You should relax.
But I do relax. I have decided to sleep extra in the mornings, and write in the evenings. Not only that, but the entire first week of work, I wrote just for 30 minutes per day. That led to a 13k word day yesterday. And it was so easy, that I only stopped with the writing for the day because it was 10:30ish pm.

So, please answer the question.

You update 7 that are completed? Ok assuming this just means you have finished all the chapters but upload slowly, I'd say they wouldn't be bothered. They just read it later. That's how I do it. I have at least a dozen books on my shelf that are slated to be read later. So I'd just release it

Yes, they all have their endings already. I just hope you are right. Would like to hear other opinions as well.

Do you have a fan club or something? Do your readers read for the story or for you?

I don't think I've ever heard of a author complaining about "burdening" their readers XD

Unless this is part of the series and they are getting fed up with it and want it to end, maybe i guess?

Sis, what if you post it at the perfect moment? Like, what if you post the chapters in the morning? Most readers tend to be energized and happy at that time. So, I don't think they'll be pissed off.

Fan club? XD

I have this one reader who lurks and checks out everything I churn up. My head cannon is that he is a gatekeeper, and if he likes the story, he calls his buddies over.

I got a kudo after posting that the story I finished yesterday was complete! I think that is what my readers want! Just completed stories! You were right!

(Dora holds up a sign: Will daydream for kudos, hearts, and comments! XD)
