Like in general I don't like amnesia being used as a plot device. It gets really annoying if MC suffers from amnesia after getting entangled with ml and they reunite after long time.
I hate seeing ml suffer, emotionally choked up, left all helpless and here Mc is all carefree, like lol I know Mc also have their own difficulties but the condition of ml becomes wayy more pitiful in such case. Like he wants to get close to Mc like before, but can't help it as he is afraid of mc being burdened by his emotions. And again it's uncertain whether Mc would be able to remember their memories for rest of his life......which I know never happens but his thought does come across his mind and it's enough to push him further in darkness.

It may be a bit fine though if Mc forgets his past and afresh he or she meets ml and gradually gets entangled for the very first time.

most of the time I enjoy it if, A. used on MC at the start and built upon later; B. if on a side character and used very delicately to ensure it doesn't seem like author is doing it for the sake of doing it

If you're writing on the premise that MC lost his powers and starts all over again, amnesia is a good plot device to use. It makes things more convenient (to the author) yet everything will still make sense to the readers. There's also a tinge of mystery that you can use with amnesia.

I like it! I really enjoy seeing the MC re-learning their relationships and whatnot, and seeing how the people surrounding the MC react to that and try to protect the MC and the like~

The emotional dilemmas and the like can be really lovely. I really enjoy this kind of drama~

It's a very cheap trope imo. I have seen in done in many books and I have not liked it a single time.

From my reading experience, most of the time it's awfully executed. So I hate it when I see it in novels!

Depends on the execution. I'm plannig for a main character to willingly give up her memory and only remembering the fact she gave it up.

Forced amnesia just because the writer needs a convenient reason to dump plot or infos, tho. That's just bad.
