I've been thinking about improving a earlier writing prompt or picking it up at some point myself.

In short, a soldier gets killed and reincarnates into the body of a deceased soldier in a alternate world/Reality.

In this world a zombie virus broke out although zombies are more like ghouls, faster, stronger and capable of reproduction.

Most of the army (which took over the government at the time) fled into underground vaults which were made under project fallout, to preserve humanity from total annihilation in case of a world wide fallout scenario.

Naturally there wasn't space for everyone so a lot of people were left into refuge camps which the army made more and more independent over time (taking a hands off approach basically)

The army still maintains infrastructure (energy, water etc) but doesn't distribute things like food and other necessities.

They still make a effort to take care of the bigger threats that normal survivors can't handle (abomination bigger then a ghoul that require anti tank weaponry or airstrikes etc). But corruption within the army is steadily rising with higher ranked officiers safely hiding in their vaults.

---
So, conclusion about printshop - the MC gets a point for every ghoul he kills (bigger kills = more points) [I'll probably make the coins a physical item that drops so that they have to be actually collected which makes farming harder, aka you don't get coins from a partly cleared horde]

But what should the economics be? Soldiers require food, army equipment requires maintenance etc.

I was thinking 1 soldier (normal) = 15 points. Demolition expert (without explosives) = 25

Standard primary clip = 1 point.
Handgun mag (+14 bul) - 0.25 points (more economically viable then prim.)

Food/utility/daily necessities/ luxury goods to keep soldiers happy

What would you suggest be added to the list and for what price?

Unless you plan to make this a game too, you only need to show the parts of the list he requests. Just keep a note of what you've included (probably a spreadsheet) to keep things consistent and add to it as either he needs stuff or you think of stuff.

True but I like to have a list ready before I start so it's more in depth. So there's already a layout and some price directions rather then them being made up/introduces when you get there in the novel.

A bit late, but as someone who did something vaguely similar? I’d say have him unlock new options as he goes. Start with a very basic set of core options and have him read all of them.

Soldier 15
Weapons and ammo like you said
Field Rations (poor) - Something like a WW1 iron ration. A heavily enriched chocolate bar and a pemmican biscuit. It’ll keep you going but you don’t want to eat this every day forever.
A basic uniform (first one is free with a new troop, but you can buy extras when damaged or you recruit a normal person into the army because you have magic food production powers)
Basic toiletry set with a toothbrush, paste, soap bar, comb.
Boxes of matches

Then have “packs” which serve as unlocks for whole categories of new stuff. They are more expensive but give you a “free” soldier with that skillset and unlocks the tools of their trade for later purchase, as well as more soldiers with that skillset. Each pack also unlocks more advanced packs, serving as prerequisites.

Medic Pack - first one comes with a trauma kit, allows for buying first aid supplies and the like. They don’t have miracle anti zombie medicine, but they can stop that scratch from going septic and help you recover from a broken bone.

Demolition Pack - First one has a few grenades and breaching charges, but you’ll need to pay extra if you want C4. Luckily the C4 is now in the shop along with grenades and breaching charges.

Classics Pack - Gives one American Revolutionary war era soldier with a musket. Unlocks a bunch of old timey kit that is cheaper to buy but almost always worse than the modern versions. Of course, the ability to buy a whole barrel of salt pork at a pretty low price is the most calorie/protein dense thing in the whole shop on a per point basis.

Trench Warfare Pack- Gives one WW1 machine gunner with an early browning machine gun. Heavy as sin but very effective against large groups of dudes attacking head on in waves. Like zombies. Requires the Classics pack to buy.

As MC unlocks more advanced packs, he will eventually be able to pay THROUGH THE NOSE for stuff like a Jeep Pack or a Navy Pack, but only even show that it’s an OPTION when you’re ready for him to start angling for that kind of thing.
