I would like to point out that there are plenty of gluten free options for Pasta from Italy. Just not as much their pizza. But! The Italians have figured a way around that too, and it is not slimy riced cauliflower. You just need to look for it. Pluss other dinning fair, tiramisu, focaccia and so on.They both want to kill me, so neither.
Assuming I can have either in gluten free version? Hmm. I love myself a good Chicken Ceasar pizza from the Hut, but some carbonara from a proper italian chef is hard to beat.
I'd say: Pasta wins if I want to have a fancy supper with someone, like a date.
But if I'm home alone and hungry? I'll probably go for a 'zza.
Food is only second to religion in Italy, though to be honest it may even surpass it. It is a national law that restaurants MUST include any allergen related ingredients in their menus. Also there is the Italian Celiac Association (Associazione Italiana Celiachia with an app no less https://apps.apple.com/us/app/aic-mobile/id393650916) who accredit restaurants to be gluten free or at least have gluten free dishes on their menu. They even teach methods to keep flour away from said dishes even indirectly.
