I'm just curious about authors who have Patreon accounts.
If you have Patreon, what kind of things do you offer to subscribers that people like?
I'm only asking because I'm thinking of setting up a Patreon, but my previous attempts didn't amount to much.
I have subscribestar but I can't generate much excitement for it either. I'm wondering if author's just don't attract many customers these days, but wanted to be sure.

I think the main draw is early release for chapters.

Pretty much the entire draw is early chapters. Even if they end up staying on just to support you (by telling themselves they'll binge later or something) their first sign up is almost always for early chapters or other exclusive/temporarily exclusive content. It's like, people might not mind giving you a few dollars to support you, but they won't make the effort of signing up if there isn't anything in it for them. I'd say, try it out with an early chapter or two, you don't have to have +10 chapters like I do right out the gate. If you find that it is leading to some success, you can always expand later on.
Good luck with everything!

I'm not gonna parrot what the above had said, but one thing I find out is that once you gain a significant readerbase, some authors even offer physical copies to be mailed towards their highest patrons. But if you can't afford that shit, best to stick to extra/Patreon-exclusive chapters.

If you want to do the latter, my top tip is to relegate popular character interactions/steamy hot schlop² scenes in these chapters. Though it's best to make them non-canon/non-substantial, as it'll make you seem as if you're trying to inadvertently shill your Patreon with an aggressive marketing strategy, or straight up lock your plot behind a paywall.
