Optional Date Cut-off for Comment Reply Notifications

After getting a notification for a reply to a comment more than a month old, I thought that it would make sense to allow users to set a cut-off point beyond which they don't get notified about replies to comments.

Alternatively, somehow allow the user to stop receiving comment reply notifications from a story that you dropped. Maybe this can be somehow it into the new reading list system?

I'm not sure that would work. The problem is that people tend to delete things they drop instead of shunting them into a separate list.

Though that is more a design flaw in the new system.
