I've noticed it that there isn't an option to delete a thread that you have already created.

But I find this disadvantageous for both SH and the users who are new (old users will probably benefit as well).

Since the total amount of threads will only increase, it will become more burdensome for the server as more time passes since the data of threads that the server stores will only grow with time.

Those new here will find it harder to skim through past threads if they want to find specific threads or important/significant threads.

My point is, there are a lot of threads that still exist even though they have already served their purpose and are of no significance now. So it would be better if there was an option to delete threads.

So, my suggestion is to allow the creator of the thread to delete their threads.

Advice: You can add an option to create temporary threads that can be deleted and permanent threads that cannot be deleted once they are created, then let us choose which type of thread we want to create.

Said threads, even big ones, use less space in the DB than an average user profile. And the main point of forums is to conserve said data, so it can be referenced by others instead of asking about the same thing over and over again.
And skimming through? Why? Just use the search option if you want to find something; it works nicely.

Additionally, deleting data can cause degraded database performance in the long run, so it will cause exactly the opposite of what you suggest (more burden on the server instead of less, and in the worst-case scenario -- data becomes corrupted and Tony needs to load backups).

It's good as it is now. If you really need something to be deleted, simply report it and state the reason why. Moderation will handle the rest.
