I like Rapiers. Not overly fond of blunt weapons.

Anyone who wants more realism can go and read or write low fantasy, or historical fiction. High fantasy is for people to let loose when it comes to cool factor. And if you equate desire for cool factor to forgoing logic, consequences, or other important parts of a story, you are... not a bright person. Plain and simple.

Small correction. You can use realistic weapons in high fantasy, it's not forbidenn. I'm just saying that high fantasy allows for unrealistic stuff, that's why you can do whatever you want.
I'm not against that, but if you want to put some kind of fantasy weapon in, you should at least make it a practical weapon for whoever will use it.

Oh, bow! I want to see more projectile weaponry. And siege engines. And explosive.

Knuckle dusters?

I know it is a stupid weapon invented purely for bar fights, but I often find the lack of them kind of sad.

It is fantasy and everyone's being high about it, so why not start throwing fists around that also shoots hadoken?

I mean, that is why I find the Dai Li in ATLA the coolest. Imagine an army of Ezios with special gauntlets and sabatons that shoots energy/ construct like Iron Man/ Green Lantern and sticks to walls like Spiderman?

If not, shield? I mean using shield offensively and defensively. Only seen a couple of works of someone in MC group using shield bash and shield slash. Had not seen Captain America throws yet though, sad.

Lastly, spear and polearm weapons are practical, but I also seen them quite a lot, to the point of swords and sabers level. And then the next approach will bows and arrows, guns and bombs... practical yes, fun no.

My favorite is the 7' penis. Go read Rosen Garten.

Hate staffs.

Wish I could see more chakrams.

I like everything, I suppose. I've seen a lot of the stuff that people hate, and I've seen a lot of the stuff that people use to counter what they hate. It seems like every third story can't help but point out how practical spears are compared to every other option, to the point of being annoying.

So now I'm in the impractical phase, I think. Give me whip-swords and gun-blades and chain-flails.

And, unrelated to my desire for the impractical... People seriously overestimate the skill required to dual wield weapons. It's like, they heard one guy say how hard it is, and suddenly nobody can think about two things at once anymore, even if they have boosted intelligence and reflexes from magic/system shenanigans. It would be like, two stat points... So give me dual wielding as well, you cowards!

Dual wield whip-sword and gun blade!

As long as it's wielded by a muscular merman with an epic beard I'm good with it.

Knuckle dusters?
I approve of this.

medieval fantasy can use more chemical weapon such as turd or fermented turd.
idk why they didn't think of loading literal shit onto trebuchet and use them as chemical artillery.
Dude!

Honestly, it isn't just spears it's all polearms, reach and leverage are just the way in melee combat, and as far as duel-wielding goes it's not really practical but it looks cool so that's why it shows up so much in fiction.
