I am looking if there are any novels out there that has this oddly specific start.

MC is a hero/ competent person who has made a bunch of recognised accomplishment to the people around/ kingdom/ company.

One day he gets fucked and lost his ability to work anymore. Initially everyone might be sorry for him but after awhile, people show their true colors at the now "useless" him.

I, unfortunately, know a bunch of JP that tried to portray this, but all I can feel is the usual slave worker-ese BS, so I don't get the emotions that I want.

Then there is the BS CN fallen genius trope coupled by a shit ton of faceslapping that I already hate.

I do recall some scenes in xianxias where MC lost his cultivation and everyone went ham with him. It was nice but shortlived. All I got from MC was "no wonder cultivators prefer death than losing their power", the line hits a lot less when in the next chapter after MC got thrown into a dungeon, he found a magic item and instaheal back to his former glory and murdered everyone in the cell. Did he went to murder those who had mocked him? The author did not say.

What I want is the emotion of the MC feeling the lost of his former glory and the jerkassness of the crowd around him.

There was a manhwa where the MC was summoned as a hero and completed it only to return back in a time loop. After countless tries he finds a solution: using the summoning circle to summon another hero to do it.

It was funny and frustrating, and I forgot the name. Something something failed hero or time loop like that.

It can't be FFF trash hero, right? Cuz I don't like that work.

Request made me think of the Way of Kings, oddly enough. I don't think that's what you're looking for, but it is hard to think of fall from grace stories that have that beat as the starting point.

This is what makes your request hard to find. The scenario you're looking for is common enough, and there are many xianxias like that, as you said, but after that, you're essentially asking for character development in web novels.

I also thought of this, but it's an actual book, not a web novel, so might not be OPs cup of tea. And Kaladan (is that his name?) is just a really good captain, not a famous hero.

There's not much audience for a well-executed fall from grace arc because most webnovel readers don't like that.

Chinese readers are more engaged with the stories and will complain hard if the "sad parts" are too long. In a way, majority of English readers are like this too, but not as vocal. Web novels are usually for enjoyment, for reader self-insert. That's why most stories with this specific setup are under the OP MC genre, because the MC will get back the powers quick.

Readers will tolerate a few chapters of hardships. After that, readers will start to complain. From the point of view of the author, to remain popular, the MC should get back his power ASAP. This is why it's very rare to have an actual downfall arc, not just a few chapters. Actually, I can't think of any example for web novels.

Kaladin the Paladin. And "famous hero" is relative here. He would have been a national hero and internationally known for killing a Jah-Kaved shardbearer, but then the whole betrayal thing happened with everyone knowing about him being killed.

Still in the way of Kings, you could say Dalinar also fits this archetype. He was internationally renowed in his youth and starts off completely washed out.

Ooh movie example: Hitchcock with Will Smith.

Sound like Newbie Management or Raising a newbie heroes in another world (long title)
