I regularly come across people who seem to have a bone deep hatred towards even the existence of anything NTR related.

I don't mean for this to advocate the genre.
Most of what goes as NTR is bad at being NTR, similar to how many amateur attempts at action plots end up ruined because the path to victory (or in this case breakdown) is too rushed to make me care.
And even if it's well done, it's outside my tastes.

But neither can I relate to this almost traumatized violent struggle at mere glance of it.

So is it all just a joke that everyone plays along with, like the "That's x from Fortnite! *starts chainsaw*" thing?

Or what does it mean to you?

I heard some people say that NTR mangas or hentais are far better quality than the other genres, so I decided to check it out one day.

And boy was I surprised.

I found myself feeling nothing about it at all. Maybe it was because the girl’s not appealing enough? Or maybe it’s because the guy who got cucked is too wimpy for me to relate to?

I don’t know, but it must have been either of these reasons, or maybe both. But I found myself feeling nothing about it.

Still don’t like it, though. Just not my cup of tea. I will avoid it if found one.

I loathe the genre myself, but as you said with there being so many of them on this site, I've started writing my own story to make fun of it.
What started out as a lightheartedly mocking one-shot shitpost accidentally turned into a large-scale story about a decent guy who ends up in one of those shitty ntr stories and tries to carve out a normal life for himself despite being hounded on all sides by horny idiots. The dude is super serious and trying to overcome his own demons, but his interactions with the world around him are hilarious!

I'm still doing final edits and finishing up the first volume, but once that's done, I'll be advertising it everywhere on the forum for anyone interested

Cheating and betrayal are bad. I wouldn't read it if I had the choice(and I always do.)
The few times I have watched or read NTR, I successfully got all the feels that I was supposed to get, but every single time I just got caught up thinking, "Why don't you just have an open relationship? Why are you dating someone who can't keep a simple promise?" It just always feels so... forced. Like you said, bad writing.

It's a matter of taste and preferences. There is a shit ton of vanilla artists with stunning art.

it's not that personal. it's fiction. it's not translated to someone's life. that's the case for most hentai/doujins. however, if you're invested in a character, seeing them betrayed feels personal. so, it either breaks off the immersion and pisses off the person immersed.

Wait, then how am I to interpret your first post?

Of course there's no 1:1 relation. What I mean is a sort of overcompensation, similar to the increase in aggressive/toxic behavior if you're in doubt about yourself.
Not every macho hides a frail inside, nor will every insecure man channel it through misogyny.
But I doubt the like/dislike of something is completely unrelated to one's own views and impressions

On the other hand I'm kind of going off topic. I wanted to learn about the NTR haters, not the fetishists.
And all I have for those right now is trust issue.
