Lately I have a bit of a reader's block, it is like writer's block but instead of spitting out sentences after sentences to create a proper scene, it is me trying to suck up someone's sick and get to know them.

I know what I am reading is supposed to be comedic, but not even a meh is there. I know it is supposed to be an action scene where the MC is getting his shit rocked by his enemy and still nothing.

The only feeling I can still feel is loss, like when a character, not necessary to be old af but having to stayed with the MC, guided and aided him like a mentor to die. The dramatic deaths are laughably cathartic as I can still gap myself, it is those that happened offscreen, those that happened in a snap, when you least expected. It is those times that can still tug my heart strings.

So what other remedies other than cold turkey?

Get pregnant, and then you won't have any time to read for a whole year. After that year, your kid will start handing you books to read, and you'll wind up reading each book 600 times before the kid learns to read on its own.

I dun wanna Mpreg.
doesn't that just mean whatever you're reading is mediocre? if it's not, you can try taking a break or clearing your palette with some bottom of the barrel works
Well that might be the problem (being mediocre). Or the fact that I am reading it to get inspiration of how the power system should my WIP story works and end up tired of the same joke repeating.

Alternatively, reread an old favorite story.
Tad but hard when the moments like surprise are lost and old fav works are things that I refused to visit back.

When I was young, it was fun continuing to play on the same game. But now it just feels no more fun can be milked out, like watching my (now no longer) favorite porn.

I had a similar experience. I simply stopped reading it for a long while. Then when I felt I am up to it, I continued reading it again.
