My WIP currently has 13 chapters, and i reaaaaally wanna post it so i can wake up every morning and be like "omg +5 views letsgoo" again.
But I promised myself I wouldn't start posting until I get a backlog of 50 chapters

why would you need such a big backlog...

So you can dump a lot of chapters day 1 and get some early buzz on your story while you're on the front page. Also important if you plan to keep a consistent release schedule and don't want to have to worry about hiatusing due to life getting in the way once or twice.

Finally, early access chapters can attract Patreon subscribers and is a way some writers will monetize their craft.

I'm planning to have a sixty chapter backlog when I release my next story here in a month and a half.

why would you need such a big backlog...

I'm planning to post 5 chapters on day one, 2 chapters/day for the rest of the week, and after that I'll continue with a daily upload schedule until I run low on backlog chapters (like only 10 backlog chapters). That's when I'll move to 3 or 4 chapters a week.

I also thought of opening a Patreon account, but I think it's too soon for me to do something like that. I'm not even sure if my story will be received well on here :s

Maybe not the BEST method for everyone but you could start reposting any existing stories you might have already completed on other sites. That’s what I started doing in order to maintain happy chemicals after switching to 1/week with 5 chapter buffer.

I think that if you post more than 3 chapters a day SH will flag it as spamming and it won't show up on latest updates.

You're right but i don't wanna post any more unfinished stories, might do that if i ever decide to pick those stories back up tho.

Definitely work on that backlog so that you can afford a day off on a rainy day, and to see if there is much interest for your work.

I get you, I have not yet posted a lot of my works, and I mean a lot lot because I want to first create a good amount of... Frontlog? Afterlumber? Aheadwood? Let's go with that one, I first want to make a lot of aheadwood.

But I guess I relate more with the lessgoo 5 more views part XD.
