Coming from Webnovel (a big mistake for a starter), my Story was quickly drowned in the mess and ocean of Copy-Paste Stories. Since then, I was furiously and desperately searching for another Site where my Story would NOT drown or at least gain some attention before finding its own place.

Now then, to get it out already. Planning to release another original Story(quite soon). I was fearing the same happening here, but after "analyzing" the Frontpage, I was quickly shoved into a very comfy mood as I gazed upon the "New Released Chapters"(the list where it shows what Story is the most recent).

My Story will take place in an alternate future(not too far, only a couple of decades).

What I want to say is... Will my work be read?
Of course, I won't know until I publish it. But still, making sure that it will at least be read by a small audience is never wrong.

This place is for degenerate stuff really you better of on RR
Ignore this guy.

As for your story, SH is one of the best platforms to start. I can't guarantee you that the story you publish will quickly garner attention or fame, but you will receive much more positive vibes from those who actually will check on your story than on any other sites. As long as your story isn't touching some very sensitive subjects, but that rarely happens. Hell, you can guess by the title of one of my stories that the community is quite understanding.

My advice is to just go for it. It also depends on what kind of story you are going to write. Also, get a nice cover even if for a moment it won't be truly yours. Something that fits your story. It all boils down to being lucky to get more attention if you are not directly writing what appeals to the community but what you like and enjoy (I'm one of these lucky people).

Anyway, SH will be a great time for you, but don't get your hopes of exploding into something huge instantly. For one more tip, SH focuses more on stories around Fantasy, Harem, Reincarnation, Isekai and also those with sexual content, and if your story is more serious like western books, you can try your luck at RoyalRoad, but it's a way less forgiving community and you should be prepared for a lot of criticism. Some people aren't comfortable with it.

But, you never know.

Trust me, mine will be a degenerate Story in some ways. Don't worry.

Thank you anyway for the advice, still think this is much better than RR.

I see, thank you kindly for the words of advice. Already feel welcomed :D

Mine won't touch anything except a conflict that is pure fantasy and is based on an alternative future a few decades from our timeline.

I don't expect to blow up like an Atomic bomb, but soothing to hear that I won't enter another state of "Why do I even write?". The Genres, I would consider it to be Fantasy mostly, as it will be an almost perfect life for the Mc. The Cover, I will figure after I got everything set in place, by that I mean Lore and stuff.

Does an OP Mc work here?(not with magic, but with Technology)

if the mc is written well go ahead but since it’s not iskeai or litrpg it may have trouble gaining traction

It works! Although most people likes magic more
True that, but I will go for it regardless.

Thanks for the heads-up. It might actually be considered harem as well, but I am unsure as my definition of a harem is at least 2 Girls.

How well does First-person narration do here? That's with what I want to go with.

Well, firstly,
Welcome To Scribblehub
Yay!
As for the tropes, well, they are true, kind of. But it is always better to have a loyal audience from start.
As for the views, the latest series will ensure that your work does get recognised. Hence, it is important to work up with your synopsis and prologue.
Also, any new series you add has to go through the moderators. So it will take about a day to get verified. After that, you can add as many chapters you want and they will be published instantly. Same with the cover.

It doesn't matter wether you write in first pov or third pov as long as it's interesting people will read it! Although most writers collectively agree that third pov is better...

But you do you, just do what you thought best :blob_party:
