So, this is just a small thread in which we can say what sort of progress we have done towards our New Year Resolutions. You don't have to post every day, but an update when you feel comfortable would be nice.

Because, you know, it does take a village, and when you pledge to do something before others you feel more motivated. (The opposite may also be true.) For today, we can just start by saying what our resolution is. Here is mine:

Put forward 1 hour of mixed practice towards learning Swedish. For now, I will be using Duolingo and Pumsleur, but when I get good enough, I will use Clozemaster as well. (I bought a lifetime subscription there for German during the last Black Friday, and I think this is money well spent.)

What is your resolution, and do you pledge to keep us updated on your progress?

Happy writing!

My resolution is to write more, i'm at my end of university so i am fairly confident that i could make some time.

Update ? I don't think the curremt iteration of the matrix needs one but if you find a glitch like men in black suit apear out of nowhere please report them to me, thanks.

Main plan for 2024 is:
  1. Finish my first novel.
  2. Stick to schedule.
  3. Stop being fat fuck and go back to being slim and sexy radish in my 30'.
  4. I may or may not also finish my sleeve tattoo, but it depends if I have time to come up with something.
1 and 3 are already in progress for a while so there's at least a chance that this will happen.

2024 plans (I won't update them here... maybe... if there is any big changes or events for them I might.)

1. Write two chapters a week. I know this isn't much, but I want to make more content this year.

2. Lose some weight. I'm not that fat or anything, but I did gain a bit of weight last year, due to a couple factors, and I want to get back down to my normal weight. More importantly, I want to move better, last year I went from being able to move well and do physically strenuous tasks (Due to family stuff, I do have to a bit of physical labour) to being as stiff as a brick.

3. Not stop writing, this sounds like point one, but this year I will start a full time job which I know will eat up a lot of time. But I want to make sure even with extra mental strain, I don't stop writing.

2023 was a productive year where I achieved several goals. I hope to do even better in 2024.
Here are my resolutions for the upcoming year:
  1. Sculpt my abs.
  2. Maintain the weight I've reached.
  3. Reach 1000 readers.
  4. Try to write a chapter a day or at least 5 a week.
  5. Start two more novels.
  6. Achieve those damn 6000 steps every day.
  7. Increase the turnover of my business.

Hey, perhaps you can share some recipes after a good meal? I love to cook! (Because I love to eat tasty food XD)

Exams are right around the corner, and I'm still procrastinating, so my first step would be to actually study.

The next would involve cultivating good habits. As a resolution, I began keeping a diary with me to jot down every fleeting thought I came across. So that I could avoid the mental clutter. This is something I noticed. I often don't live in the moment. I live in my mind, always thinking about one or the other. The result: I end up making stupid mistakes.
So that's a habit I want to change. Not to mention, this might probably help me with my screwed perception of time, reflect, and complete half-finished thoughts.

Practicing self-compassion wasn't on my radar a month ago, but being honest, there's way too much negativity in my life, a good portion of which is external, but much of it is also self-inflicted. Noting positive things I did or where I made improvements was kind of helpful. Self-delivering encouraging words to myself was weird, but not without benefits. If nobody cares, the one who has to care has to be you, right?

Write stories. Read books. Draw stuffs. And be a better version of myself overall, I guess.
