New release blockade

I tried publishing new series today and there was a problem - no new series were approved for now nearly 24h. That basically means the series I released is not going to appear in "New series" tab at all, as there are going to be ton of them appearing at once. It would be greet if we could see how many new series are in the pending tab/expected wait time/if there are any admins online, and if multiple series are approved at once- if they could be spread out when they appear on front page

Personally, I just deleted the series for now, since it was not approved might as well release it tomorrow.

A pending tab would be no help except for advertising but that is already done with the new series tab. I don't see the point.

That's not true. It was 10 hours (when I last approved new series) when you posted this but I usually check SH every 2-3 hours. Just approved it all now again too.

I don't think it is for advertisement purposes, just for the author to know how many series are pending for approval to better plan/time when to create the novel they want to write.

I could be wrong, but that is how I understood it.

yeh, that's what I mean, it would be something you would only see when clicking the create new series button with info.

Ahhh.. In that case, I'm pretty sure that would be cool, like a other new releases section so you could probably plan out releases.

I’ve noticed this a few times since I have several series I’ve created sometimes it’s rough for it to be reviewed. I wonder if it might be better to make a very small first chapter which has a better chance of approval and then immediately update with a proper one right after that.

Just release it normally, it isn't a big deal. My first chapter didn't even make it to the front page since after the dump I was the 10th in line and I only stayed on the front page of new releases for like 5 minutes. While it does help to get that day 1 buzz, it isn't everything. I have done just fine without the extra attention. If I had one thing I wish SH did it would be to set up a release queue for new books, that way only one can be introduced every 30 minutes to an hour. So when he approves books he just dumps them in and it fires them out one at a time. That would be really awesome, then you could also see when your book was going to come out.
