I created a creature called a Norhs that's basically a horse but instead of hooves, it had human hands. They're also predators that hunt by choking their prey to death. In order to tame one you must wrestle it one on one and win. It started a sport where people would wrestle against the Norhs. After a while though, the Norhs learned how to punch so it evolved into Norhs MMA.

It's not a new race, just a spin on prexisting races but:

Elves were originally spirits created by nature who had everything handed to them on a silver platter by nature. These nature spirits got kinda greedy and ended up harvesting and eating some plants. So mother nature got angry and turned them human-like and kept the pointy ears as a sign of shame, thus creating dark elves(or simply elves).

Orcs are kinda like mammoths but some archmage decided he would rather have a desert in the south than a cold climate

Mud-dogs.

They're salamanders.

Specifically, they're based on the eastern hellbender salamander. They live under rocks in fast-flowing shallow streams and have mottled skin. They eat small prey, the males guard the eggs, and they tend to be territorial. I like using creatures native to the Americas when I write, so hellbender salamanders it is

They're salamanders. They have an organ inside of them that catalyzes water and a biofuel into hot bursts of steam. This steam is vented around their body and through their mouths, letting them reshape terrain. They use this steam to kill and digest prey. "Prey," being fish, deer, and small children. Anything clumsy or dumb enough to get under the rivers and rocks they live under. Most get up to 100 lbs.

They also taste like chicken. Specifically, fried buffalo-flavor hot chicken wings. It's a delicacy among elves.

Spoiler: I guess my Kindlesprites count?

They're homunculi, only instead of replicating human life, they were created in an attempt to surpass it. The name has a duel meaning, referring both to candles and kindling. Other names are Greater Homunculi or Prometheans.

The Primordial Clay they're grown from is a special material that absorbs any kind of elemental mana, which makes them excel at channeling magic. The clay is similar appearance-wise to candle wax, at least initially.

Kindlesprites are formed around a Core that can regenerate their body, so as long as the Core is intact, they're immortal. The inspiration for the Core actually came from a Lich's Phylactery, in-universe.

Once a Kindlesprite figures out their identity, they become Enkindled. It's a major power boost to the abilities they choose to specialize in. For example, a Kindlesprite who chooses to become a fire mage would be cloaked in flame, their physical features changing to match or even enhance their abilities.

It's possible for a newly created Kindlesprite Core to be used in a similar way to a Phylactery, as long as there isn't already a soul inside. A person infused into a Kindlesprite Core keeps their personality, but gains the enhanced abilities of a Greater Homunculi. Some changes may occur when they Enkindle, however.

Rockworms too, and they're easier to talk about. They're giant earthworms that turn rock into a liquid slurry so they can eat it. Larger variants can become pests that require adventurers to come and keep them in line. They're mostly harmless though, since they can't eat meat or plants.

The most interesting interaction is probably the Oreworms. They prefer to eat raw ores, so they often infest mines. Obviously bad for anyone who needs the ores in those mines; but if you can kill one, their hide is made of raw orichalcum, and they have an Elemental Gem of Metal imbedded in their head that can be quite useful for making magic items.

They also have a few natural predators that are interesting, but I haven't even mentioned them in my story yet, so that's all for today.

Sabertooth dog-faced hyena with bone-crusher fangs and retractable boar tusks and teeth, penguin flippered legs, and seal tail. + spiny tentacle tongues and mate sac for breeding thing, but only in the mouth. Has ability to manipulate matters. Can turn their horn dongs into slime for breeding purpose.
To doggone heat days and to track prets down even in water like sharks.
Breeding partner is horse with bird wings for legs.
