Well, well, well. We meet again.
I'm going to assume you're familiar with the idea of creating fake scenarios—this is how I came up with my story.
At the time, I was reading *Berserk* for the second time
and had just watched the *Cyberpunk* anime
. I thought it would be interesting to merge the themes of *Berserk* with a noir cyberpunk setting, so I created compelling characters and an intriguing plot.
In the end, I developed a major villain who controls everything, like Attack on Titan's Eren Yeager or Death Note's Light Yagami
.
I then wrote an outline and started a zero draft. This was just a high-level overview of the plot, not a detailed plan. That way, I could still explore more ideas, because I had a vague idea of where I was going.
While you can surely make things up
. But you still need inspiration for the story and themes you want to explore. It's also important to consider the questions your story poses and the philosophy it revolves around.
I don’t know if this will help you, but this is how I approached it.
