Okay, so I'm actually rewriting my very first novel that I posted on SH. I'm not editing it. I'm replotting the whole thing.( I've already plotted it)
So, now I need some tips that would help me rewrite. Feel free to drop some if you have experiences. Also, should I delete the one I have already published?

I've rewritten my fiction for volume 1, and thankfully, it was completed without disrupting the update schedule for volume 2.

My advice: find your narrative style before rewriting. Consider how you use POV, terms, pacing, etc! This is crucial for your writing to have a unified identity. A narrative style that suits your taste will also make you comfortable writing narratives.

Besides, rewriting is boring... only if you repeat your writing without any meaningful additions. You should develop your narrative, perhaps enriching the perspective, sharpening the characters, or even developing the plot. You can create a timeline... analyse where you can add new plot points without disrupting the main flow (if necessary).

Finally, you should standardise your rewriting, for example, writing chapters averaging 1500-2000 words per chapter. This is crucial for improving the quality of your content.

As for your fiction... whether it's deleted or re-released... I leave that to you. If it doesn't have many readers, perhaps you can re-release it as long as you've carefully planned it!

But it's important... you should research where your fiction stands. Who is your potential audience? Does the platform support it? This way... you can customise the title, cover, synopsis, genre and tags accordingly.

No, it's up to you. Some authors keep their old novels even after publishing the rewrite version. You could think of it as a nice memory, I guess. :blob_cookie:

As for the writing tips, I don't have much experience, but some general advice.

Like, if you're rewriting, you should have an ending in mind. Even if it's a vague idea, it works for the time being. You can always change the plan later on.

Perfection doesn't exist, because I kwilled it. If you make a mistake or two, you can always make amends later on. :blob_happy:

You can break grammar rules, but only after learning about them. :blob_evil_two:

Sometimes it's hard to find inspiration, or there might be too many ideas and routes to go through, so have a tea break while you're waiting. :blob_sir:

(Re)writing is a lonely endeavour. Visit the Scribbly forums, or whichever comfort place you like, and enjoy your time here before going back to the grind. :meowsip:

(Oh, and, add a handsome white haired vampire character while you're at it. :blob_aww:)

I would suggest giving the new novel a similar but different title and mentioning that it is essentially the same story for those who have read it when (if) you do share.
That way, it IS a different but familiar story for them - and something you could publish elsewhere without saying "Oh, this is already available for free somewhere," (or having to stub both versions).

Hm... I guess I should review the plot a bit more before start writing. Also, I'll try to write some chaps before start publishing cz I regretted not doing so last time lol

Haha I'm actually looking for a way to learn grammar rules in an easier and faster way. I mean it's not like I'm an absolute amateur. So, taking basic online classes tires me lol.
(I would appreciate if God added a handsome white haired vampire in my life :blob_evil:)

I didn’t even consider adding a different title as the plot is basically the same. Should I?

Depends - if you plan to monetize later with a service of some sort (KDP, Pocket FM, Webnovel) then absolutely. If you don't care about that, or plan to publish yourself, then its not really worth confusing fans.

I'm actually pretty confused myself. I'm not sure if I wanna self-publish or publish on amazon. Idk which one is better as I'm a teenager and I don’t know how marketing works. Would appreciate if you enlighten me.

So far, I only have experience with PocketFM so may not be the best person to talk with about this.
