The new novel I am working on is basically about a dead school girl...her story is pretty generic

A odd quite girl who got bullied to death... returned as a ghost and killed all the bullies and anyone equally responsible in a extremely violent matter...ate their souls to suffer inside her and decided to visit her grandfather since he was the only person nice to her

Three years later after generally being harmless friendly ghost who occasionally gets rid other evil spirits or ghost with the help of the local shrine she goes all I Kira like and decides to hunt 100 evil spirits across the Japan to ascend to godhood and recruits our exorsist MC to help her with her goal

Revenge novel? That's interesting as I lately see litrpg, smut, and harem here.

Have you seen the streaming series "School Spirits"? That had an interesting take

the girl isn't really dead - and a real dead person takes over her body at the end of S1

Could pull something like that with her having been primed to be a killing machine, perhaps by the MC or a rival exorcist, and her "revenge" murders were her being manipulated, perhaps with memories of the real villain overwriting her own.

Her exorcist is not a bully but he is a bored immortal guy with nothing to do getting concerned about the fact that the girls obsession with creating a world without since involves murder and eternal torment

The girl sounds extremely childish, immature and overall like a brat to me.
An immortal exorcist would probably not be a compatible MC to interact with her. Did you just decide to make him an "immortal exorcist" because of the whole connection to ghosts?

I feel like this story sounds very generic and doesn't really give you the chance to tell an interesting story. It seems to rely solely on the connection with the MC and the ghost girl. If that connection fails or feels forced the whole story crumbles.

I'd probably rethink the back story to make it a bit more interesting, also you haven't really told us the genre... does the story have fights? Is it romance MC / girl? Is it trying to seriously explore polictics and society? I feel like you haven't thought to deeply about what kind of story you want to write.

1) he is a forceful exorcist(or guy knows no shit about exorsism) by beating the crap out of ghosts and forcibly getting them to reincarnate(It will be explained) here is an idea

2) romance is there but not the main theme violence is

3) Both are not exactly heros one is a sociopathic ghost girl ,the othe completely disregards human life as pointless waste(they won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in their way)

An outsider perspective of events:
Spirit slaughters a bunch of school kids and devours their spirits.
Said spirit takes time to recover before seeking out other powerful spirits to grow stronger from.

Conclusion: Stop that evil spirit before she kills more innocent people or completes whatever ritual she's trying to do!

No offense, but whenever I see somebody talking like this, it always ends up being some Shadow the Hedgehog fanfiction-level, grim and edgy for no reason, mess. People want main characters they can connect with, sympathize with, and root for. Nobody over the age of 12 is going to be able to relate to two horrible people with no regard for innocent lives.

People want main characters they can connect with, sympathize with, and root for. Nobody over the age of 12 is going to be able to relate to two horrible people with no regard for innocent lives.

That is the entire point of the story to set up a stage for the original protagonists

Speaking of which they treat life and death meaningless because in their views if someone died they will just reincarnate
