Hi, I'm looking for tips on how to increase the view count for my web novel. Any advice on what strategies have worked for you? I'd appreciate any insights, whether it's about improving visibility, promotion, or optimizing my chapters. Thanks in advance!

Publish more than 7 chapters, maybe? View counts increase exponentially. The more chapters you have, the more any one person who decides to give your story a try will add to your total and the more chapters there are the more likely it is that people will touch your story at all.

Also, quite frankly, I would be beyond hesitant to start anything written on your account because looking at your other 13 stories I see 10 that are just dead, so my first thought is: "Why bother? That one's not gonna go anywhere, either."

As Melchi said, 2nd pov is a flag not that it's bad but some people won't touch a story in the second pov, unless it's fanfiction. And I'd say get a better picture of something saucy because sex sells and everyone is horny to a degree, I just made this one below. It will differently get you some passing views I can't guarantee they'll be permanent but you'll get some real readers out of it.

First off, you need to commit to a book so that readers know you're dedicated to giving them a thought-out story.

If this is a book you'll be taking seriously, then treat it as your first book (as your others have <10 chapters). Commit to a schedule, continue trying to improve (even after several revisions, you should still be nit-picky), and once you are satisfied, try posting it on other sites for exposure.

But all of this takes time. At this stage in your writing journey, experiment and improve.

This is a question I ask myself all the time while I prep my story notes. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to write to the best of my ability, and should I get poor numbers that's OK, should I get great numbers, that's good too.

I think it's important not to be bothered by view count when you don't have many chapters.
No matter how good you write no one is going to care about it if they think there's a chance it will be dropped before it even starts.

You can make a perfect start but most people only even consider reading once you have a certain amount of chapters. And if you're lucky they might put you in a plan to read collection.

You could add links in your sig. plenty of authors here do that. It won't majorly boost your stats, but every little bit helps, yes?

I think that the synopsis should be redone.

2nd person is a big red flag for me and likely other people.
2nd person is a huge drawback. Heck, even in my reader-drive story, Two Faces, I use 3rd person because 2nd is just so cumbersome to try and keep steady. And if the synopsis is in 2nd, there's a good chance readers will assume the story is as well.

I'm speaking from experience. I have a one shot that's in 2nd, and it is jarring. so, very jarring...

^^ This is a big one. If a story is dead, remove it. if it's on hold, mark it as on hiatus. if it's completed, mark it as completed.

View counts are not reader counts. View counts are easy to inflate. A little SEO and social media will do. As for readers, I agree with RecursiveDescent: write more chapters.

I feel mods should sticky/pin a post saying : Please write 50chapters before creating a thread asking : "How to be more popular"

ps : bc its often at this stage that "series" get a surge of readers (or 100+).
Its bc of readers mentality : "Its a series that likely wont be axed/dropped by author, like the ## good potential series that were dropped for no reason."
Also. How to be a good writer = Is to be a good reader.
